I remember when we once spoke about our future years back, bright-eyed, hopeful, dreaming freely, thinking we had “plenty time.” And now here we are… I blinked once, maybe twice… And suddenly, I’m sheepishly yet confidently standing in awe of God, ready to pledge my allegiance: First to God, then to her family, and then to mine, that I will love, honor, protect, cherish, and faithfully nurture the woman God has trusted into my care. Because at the end of the day:
“For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her… And for wives, this means submit to your husbands as to the Lord.” — Ephesians 5:25, 22 (NLT) That is our anchor, our compass, our covenant.
